Centaurs armed with mining beams and weaponry became turrets hugging their 'roids, Behemoth Heavy Miners pulled huge loads of the precious mineral, all the time praying & trusting the fighter cover kept the assault & guardian bots from targeting them...
"I was born for this" I thought, and indeed, "Conflict Diamond" was conceived that day, a specialist in "Hostile Extraction Environments" although she wouldn't appear until one late night weeks later in the small hours of vo.
"Let's start a mining guild" someone declared from nowhere on universal subspace comm 100.
"Let's have the guild tag read [ORE]" the consensus became.
"Let's call it, 'Orbital Rock Extraction'!!!" I found myself chiming in.
That was a year ago today.
Had you asked me then if I, an over-enthusiastic (if still only learning) PvP junkie, would become the commander of mining guild, I would have chuckled. If you had asked me six months ago if I thought [ORE] would require a forum, I'd have scoffed. If you asked me 3 months ago that [ORE] would require formal membership applications, I'd have rolled on the floor. But, here we are...
